Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On Sunday we celebrate the gift of “Mother.” Many of you will spend time with your mothers, while some of us will cherish the memory of our mothers. All of our celebrations will be special, and for that I give thanks.
Using an acronym, remember that M.O.T.H.E.R. means:
M – Miraculous. She is “… amazingly and miraculously made… [Her] works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.” Psalm 139:14 (HOB)
O – Obedient. She “…walk[s] in obedience to [God’s] commands… [she] walk[s] in love.” 2 John 1:6 (NIV)
T – Trusting. She “[trusts] in and [relies] confidently on the Lord with all [her] heart [a]nd [does] not rely on [her] own insight or understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (AMP)
H – Hopeful. She knows “… the plans [God has] for [us]…plans to prosper [us] and not to harm [us], plans to give [us] hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
E – Encouraging. She understands that she must be “…strong and courageous… [and] not be afraid… [or] discouraged, for the LORD [her] God will be with [her and her offspring] wherever [they go].” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
R – Resilient. She never quits, for she is confident “… that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into [God’s divine] plans.” Romans 8:28 (TLB)
On behalf of your Universal Foundation for Better Living (U.F.B.L.) Board of Directors and the entire U.F.B.L. family, have a blessed and joyous Mother’s Day.
Remembering Mom,
